The death of Monica Spear and those responsible is still under investigation in Venezuela. The news shocked the world due to the horrendous slaying the former Miss Venezuela beauty queen was subject to. Spear, her ex-husband, Henry Thomas Berry, and daughter Maya were traveling down a Venezuelan highway after a vacation when they were involved in an accident. Then a group of unknown assailants approached their vehicle to assault the family and when they resisted they started shooting which resulted in the death of Spear and Berry. Their 5-year-old daughter escaped death with a wound in her leg, but sadly both of her parents passed away.
Numerous arrests have been made and news has broken that a tenth suspect has been taken into custody. The name of the killer is Nelfrend Antonio Jimenez Alvarez, who was arrested while he was the the Big Low Shopping Center in Valencia. The 21-year-old is said to have had the weapon that killed the "Pasión Prohibida" actress. Authorities are said to be behind 18-year-old Gerardo José Contreras Alvarez, who is also part of "Los Sanguinarios" group. This gang has been known to carry weapons of all sizes, which police had confiscated in the past. This group is known to assault drivers going down the highway to rob them of their lives and posessions.
Mónica Spear's last project on television was in the telenovela "Pasión Prohibida" where she co-starred with Rebecca Jones, Roberto Vander and Jencarlos Canela. The latter wrote on Twitter, "I am without words. I will miss you friend. And to my lovely and beautiful Maya, I love you. You are not alone!" Roberto Vander who also co-starred with Spear wrote, "I am shocked and without words, only tears of saddness and anger. May you reast in peace my dear Monica Spear." Roberto Manrique who worked with her on "Flor Salvaje" said, "Moni, may all the light that you left in this world take you with peace to your destination. You are in my heart and everyone elses."
