Mónica Spear, former Miss Venezuela beauty queen and Telemundo actress, was found dead after an apparent robbert at the age of 29. Spear was traveling with her partner Thomas Henry Berry and her 5-year-old daughter Maya on the Puerto Cabello-Valencia highway in Venezuela on Monday night when they were involved in an accident, Globovision reports. Police reports state that unknown assailants approached the vehicle and attempted to assault the family but Spear resisted and locked themselves inside the vehicle.
The family was on vacation traveling in a gray 2002 Toyota Corolla car at the time of the attack where both Spear and Berry were shot to death. Their daughter was only injured after being shot in her leg. Monica's "Pasión Prohibida" co-star, Jencarlos Canela, has already reacted on Twitter after the devasting news. "I am without words. I am going to miss you my friend. My lovely and beautiful Maya, I love you. You are not alone."
Mónica Spear won the Miss Venezuela beauty pageant in 2004 and was 4th runner-up during Miss Universe 2005. Spear has participated in telenovelas like "El Desprecio," "Mi Prima Ciela," "Calle Luna, Calle Sol," and "La Mujer Perfecta." She began to gain international notoriety after striking a contract with the Telemundo network and starring in telenovelas like "Flor Salvaje" and "Pasión Prohibida."
