One of the many reasons people love the "Grand Theft Auto" series is the music. Playing with the main character of any "GTA" game and listening to a plethora of music from many different genres has become a major requirement for "Grand Theft Auto" games and "GTA V" didn't disappoint. Rockstar added so many artist and songs to their track list in "GTA V" from: Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, Stevie Wonder and even Britney Spears.
Well now it seems that Rockstar is getting some flank from rapper and producer Daz Dillinger, who is accusing Rockstar of using two of his songs without his permission. In a cease-and-desist letter, Dillinger demanded that Rockstar either compensate him for the use of his songs or recall "Grand Theft Auto V," TMZ reported. In the cease-and-desist letter Daz and his attorney claimed the songs "C-Walk" and "Nothin But the Cavi Hit" were included in "GTA V" even after Daz declined the $4,271 fee offered for both songs.
Daz is now after a bigger payout or demands that all remaining unsold copies of "Grand Theft Auto V" be recalled and destroyed. While the latter will obviously not happen you can expect for Rockstar to pay Daz quite a lump sum without feeling it. TMZ reports that Daz and his attorney are giving Rockstar 14 days to comply with their demands.
"GTA V" reportedly grossed $800 million in the game's first 24-hours of release and has gone on to earn over $1 billion in sales. That has been one of the biggest initial launch in entertainment history.
As of now Rockstar has yet to respond to the allegations by Daz Dillinger.
