Louisiana Senator John Kennedy called on federal authorities to ensure those responsible for the deadly Bourbon Street terrorist attack are swiftly apprehended and held accountable.

"Here's what I want to ask from the federal government: Catch these people. Catch these people, and then then tell the American people the truth," Kennedy said, promising to "give them the benefit of the doubt...for awhile," during the investigation.

The attack, in which 42-year-old Shamsud-Din Jabbar drove into a crowd before exchanging fire with police, left at least 10 victims dead and dozens injured. FBI officials have stated they believe Jabbar "was not solely responsible" and are investigating his associates.

Kennedy emphasized his commitment to holding federal agencies accountable.

"I will promise you this: When it is appropriate and this investigation is complete, you will find out what happened and who was responsible, or I will raise fresh hell," he vowed.

The senator pledged to pursue the truth if the federal government fails to provide answers.

"And I will chase those in the federal government who are responsible for telling us what happened," Kennedy added.

The FBI continues its investigation and has asked for public assistance in providing any relevant information, photos, or videos.
