Britney Spears’ father Jamie Spears will not face criminal charges for the accusations against him by Kevin Federline. Federline, Spears’ ex, accused Jamie of child abuse but it seems that none will come off these allegations.
In a statement to Radar Online, Ventura County District Attorney Gregory D. Totten claimed that no criminal charges will not be filed against Jamie Spears due to lack of evidence.
“The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office investigated allegations involving child abuse by Mr. Spears,” the statement said, with regard to Britney’s dad. “After reviewing the evidence, there is insufficient proof that a criminal offense was committed by Mr. Spears,” the statement further read.
It can be remembered that back on August 25, Federline filed a police report against Jamie because something happened at home. According to the report, Jamie abused Britney’s son, Sean Preston. “Mr. Federline alleged the grandfather battered one of the sons’ on Aug.24, I believe the 13-year old,” Sgt. Bugarin previously revealed to Radar.
Allegedly, the “Toxic” singer immediately removed the children from Jamie and brought them back home. They also stayed at Kevin’s overnight.
“Britney had the boys at Jamie’s condo on the evening of August 24. Jamie and Sean Preston got into an argument. Sean Preston felt unsafe and locked himself into a room. Jamie broke into the room and shook Sean Preston,” an insider claimed to US Weekly.
Another insider said that Jamie has a bad temper that everyone in the family knows about. The insider said Britney did right by taking the children to safety by moving far away from her dad. While Kevin was angry, Britney and the boys were very upset. The source said that Preston did not end up hurt, but got scared and traumatized.
In a related news, TMZ reported that Britney’s mother Lynne will ask the court to remove Jamie as a conservator of the star. A court hearing is set for Wednesday, and according to Mail Online, Britney is prepared for a “fireworks show” in this legal battle with her father.
