Billy Ray Cyrus

This is something out of this world. Literally. And I’m so sorry that you will have to see this but, it’s just too bad to pass by it without giving it any attention. It’s basically Billy Ray Cyrus, yes, Miley Cyrus’ father, doing a hip hop version of his 90’s hit “Achy Breaky Heart” featuring Buck 22 which they called “Achy Breaky 2.” And they didn’t stop in a song. No, they had to make a video that looks like a slutty Spice Girls reunion with a special appearance by Larry King.

You read it right. The video starts with the veteran TV personality reading the news and saying that an unidentified flying object was spotted. Then we see Billy Ray and a kid version of Buck walking through a forest and all of the sudden they’re abducted by the UFO. Once on the ship, Buck suddenly grows up and everything becomes a party with scantily clad aliens twerking (of course) as Buck performed his verses and Billy Ray played his guitar and sang the iconic chorus.

Since the twerking apparently wasn’t enough, Billy Ray also made a “Wrecking Ball” mention, while Buck rapped “It happened because I happened to meet up with Billy Cyrus.” He also says “Been next to BRC on TMZ, got everyone wonderin’ who I am.” And as it turns out, this kid has some pretty impressive credentials. Buck 22, who according to his Twitter is leading a "new revolution of Country Music mixed with Hip-Hop," is veteran music producer Damon Elliott, the son of Dionne Warwick and jazz drummer Bill Elliott.

"I asked [Billy Ray Cyrus] if he would mind if I could take a crack at remaking 'Achy Breaky Heart' and he looked at me for a moment, and said 'lots of people have tried already, but go for it.' He didn't have a clue that I had already gone into the lab and cooked up a demo of what I thought would be a fun EDM/hip-hop styled version, which at the time only had a sample from the original of his voice. He liked what he heard and, weeks later, arrived at the session to record this track," Buck 22 told Rolling Stone.

Buck has worked with Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Destiny's Child, Keyshia Cole and P!nk, among others. But his amazing work with other artists didn’t translate to his own as he ended up releasing a hot mess with someone who seems to be clinging onto his daughter’s fame to try to resurrect his one hit wonder career.
