Matt Peterson is one lucky guy right now. This 17-year-old guy went all out to invite Miley Cyrus to his Arcadia High School prom on May 3, in a YouTube video that went viral. "Miley, I have been a fan of yours from the beginning," Peterson wrote in the message posted under his video uploaded Jan. 31. "You've changed my life, and I want to repay you by giving you the best night of your life. In order to do that, allow me to take you to my Prom on May 3, 2014."
The Arizona teenager explained in the video how this wouldn’t be their first encounter. Matt met Miley during a KissFM interview back in 2009. He was so star struck that he broke down in tears of joy when he met his idol. Six months later, Miley recognized him again at her concert and gave him a shout out. Matt wore a black “Team Miley” shirt in the clip, which he also wore at the KissFM encounter, later changing to a tuxedo, to finally strip down to nothing but a foam finger and a bouquet of roses.
"I promise you, we will have a great time," he said in the video. "And after our first encounter, I won't cry on your dress. I hope you will tell me yes when I'm sitting with roses in the 6th row at your BANGERZ tour in Phoenix on Febuary 27th!" So, did Miley say yes or what? Unfortunately, she said no. However, she counter-offered a pretty sweet deal. "Dear Matt Peterson, I don't think I'll be able to make it to prom BUT why don't you come to my AZ show & hang w me? Don't forget a corsage," Miley tweeted on Saturday, along with an emoji kiss.
"I need a tongue tuxedo made by the 27th. THIS IS THE BEST DAY OF MY WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE!!! #mileyprom," Matt enthusiastically replied on the social media. To which Miley responded back with "PuHlEaSe" and several tongue emojis. In case you missed, it, check out the prom invite below!
