The top 8 of "The Voice" Season 21 came down to top 5 Tuesday night, and it turned out to be a season wrap for Team Ariana.
A day after Jim & Sasha Allen, Jershika Maple, Lana Scott, Hailey Mia, Girl Named Tom, Wendy Moten, Paris Winningham and Joshua Vacanti hit the stage, three were sent home Tuesday night.
"The Voice" results episode 24 began with Carly Pearce singing her hit song “29" followed by host Carson Daly calling the top 8 to the stage to announce the first finalist of the season. Wendy Moten from Team Blake was announced as the first contestant to get enough votes from America to make it to the finale, which will take place next week.
Coach John Legend then sang “You Deserve it All" that put people in the holiday spirit. This was followed by Daly announcing Paris Winningham from Team Blake and Girl Named Tom from Team Kelly as the artists advancing to the finale.
Blake Shelton was also one of the performers apart from being a coach. He sang his new number “Come Back as a Country Boy” before Daly announced Hailey Mia from Team Kelly as the fourth finalist.
Then came performances by the remaining four artists who sang for the last Instant Save of season 21 and the fifth position in the show's finale.
Scott from Team Blake was first up and she sang “Things a Man Oughta Know.” Coach Kelly Clarkson loved her performance and said that country music needs voices like hers. Then Vacanti from Team Legend sang the iconic number “My Heart Will Go On.” Legend said that Vacanti had a “God-given gift” and he needed to be in the finale.
Jim & Sasha Allen from Team Ariana then went behind the microphone to sing “Rich Girl.” Their coach Ariana Grande was proud of them and said that they were “amazing and irreplaceable.”
Maple from Team Legend was the last to perform. She sang “Break Every Chain" to impress the audience and coaches, who were on their feet for this one. Legend said that he hated that she was in the bottom and called her one of the best vocalists he’s ever worked with in this show. Then Maple was announced as the Instant Save winner, making her the fifth contestant to head to the finale.
"The Voice" Season 21 finale will air Monday, Dec. 13 and Tuesday, Dec. 14 on NBC.
