Speculation on Prince Harry's return to the United Kingdom to participate in the joint birthday celebrations of Prince William and Kate Middleton emerged.
A combined birthday celebration for both William, who turned 40 years on June 21, and Kate, who turned 40 on Jan. 9, will be hosted by Queen Elizabeth. Royal fans believe Harry and Meghan will extend an olive branch to the future king and his wife by attending their joint birthday event.
"According to a very good source, Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, is very keen for Harry to be invited [to her and William's joint birthday party]," said royal expert Neil Sean. "[Although] no mention of Meghan, I noted in the quote I was told."
"Apparently she thinks this would be an actual great way of bonding together. Birthdays are a time, as she's pointed out, of celebration, families, and having loved ones around you."
Sean recalled Kate's attempt to get the brothers to bond after Prince Philip's funeral. "As we saw, you know, a while back at the Duke of Edinburgh's funeral, she [Kate] tried to her very best get them to rebond, however, adding that, "it didn't work." He added that Kate is "nothing but a trier" and that "she did like Prince Harry."
Meanwhile, royal expert Marlene Koenig firmly believed that the return of Harry and Meghan to the UK is very unlikely because of the ongoing rift between the two brothers. "The answer is probably going to be no, because they made a decision to pick up sticks and 'Go West, young man' is the expression and that's what they did."
William reportedly did not spend any quality time with his brother when they visited the UK for the Platinum Jubilee celebration. The known tensions between Harry and William have been ongoing for some time, since Harry and Meghan withdrew from their senior working royal duties in 2020. The couple made the decision to step down" after many months of reflection and internal discussions."
The Sussexes reportedly did invite the Cambridges and their three children to daughter Lilibet's first birthday party, held on June 4 in their backyard at Frogmore Cottage.
