Is 'Peacemaker' Kate Middleton Making Progress In Bridging Prince William, Harry Gap?

Kate Middleton, The Duchess of Cambridge, is reported on Wednesday to be playing “peacemaker” between her husband Prince William and his estranged brother Prince Harry, as the two attempt to mend fences after Harry left the monarchy.

A source close to the couple claimed that Middleton was “frantically trying to play peacemaker” between the two brothers, as William has reportedly felt tension with Harry since his separation from the monarchy and refuses to communicate with him, according to Us Weekly.

“There’s a small glimpse of hope of saving the brothers from never speaking again: Kate,” a source close to the couple said. “She can sense that despite everything that has happened, William still feels the loss of Harry.”

William and Harry have had multiple opportunities to meet together since Harry and his wife Meghan stopped being working royals for the Crown, including the Service of Thanksgiving at St. Paul’s Cathedral during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, but William has so far resisted efforts to make amends with Harry.

“[She] had a quiet word with the boys separately, even going as far as calling Harry in Montecito and suggesting that he reach out to William on his birthday,” the source said. “The issue is William and Harry are both overly stubborn, so there’s not much hope.”

The two also didn’t allow their children to meet each other during the Sussexes’ visit to the Platinum Jubilee due to prior engagements, meaning that Prince William and Kate’s children were not there to celebrate Harry’s child Lilibet’s birthday.

“William and Kate made no effort at all to introduce Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis to [Lili],” royal author Christopher Andersen said. “As far as I know, nobody believes they spoke [to one another].”

In spite of the tension between the brothers, William and Kate continue to be popular among the public as working royals, with Kate being admired by fans of the British Royal Family due to her poise and fashion sense, Marie Claire reported.

“Catherine has not only been wonderfully supportive, but has also grown in confidence, especially as a speaker,” royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said. “They are also the world’s most glamorous royal couple.”
