Marcus Rashford commented on claims alleging he and a group of Manchester United players are irritated by striker Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portuguese footballer is alleged to have "irritated" Rashford, Harry Maguire and other players by wanting to create his own clique in the Old Trafford dressing room.

However, the Man Utd young star Rashford slammed claims on social media, hitting back at the news report. Rashford tweeted an article from Bild, "TRUE: The English Players like Harry Maguire, Marcus Rashford and Co are irritated that Ronaldo wants to lead the dressing room with his own clique. There is a risk of a split in the team."

The 24-year-old English professional footballer responded to the tweet and captioning it, "Are we just making it up as we go along now then? Please stop looking for divides." He called out journalist Christian Falk over the claims on Twitter.

Man Utd have been in an unstable condition since the start of the season -- they have struggled to score goals. A series of reports claiming of unrest in the dressing room, triggered Rashford to comment and defend his teammates.

Ronaldo's dramatic comeback to Old Trafford last August was expected to bring Red Devils to Premier League title contenders, but it appeared that even the five-time Ballon d'Or winner has been unable to help his team. Football critics believed that Ronaldo had made the team worse due to his style of playing on the field. However, the 37-year-old has proved his skills scoring a total of 15 goals in just 27 games, including his most awaited strike in Tuesday's 2-0 win against Brighton, ending his six-game goal drought.

"Back on track! Nobody gives up and there's only one way to get back on track: hard work, team work, serious work," Ronaldo celebrated on social media after the win against Brighton. "Everything else is just noise. Let's go Devils!"

Meanwhile, interim manager Ralf Rangnick, who also faces issues about his unhappy players, commended Ronaldo for the amazing strike and good performance.

Man Utd's next game will be on Elland Road and they will face Marcelo Bielsa's Leeds United Sunday, kick-off starts at 2:00 pm.
