Lupillo Rivera Not Attending 'Jenni Vive 2015': 'Diva De La Banda' Brother Explains Reasons In Sincere Message [VIDEO]

It's confirmed, Lupillo Rivera will not attend his late sister Jenni Rivera's tribute festival taking place July 2nd in her hometown Long Beach, Calif. The Mexican singer explained his decision in a nearly 10-minute long video posted on his Facebook account. In a nutshell, he stated that not attending the first annual event "Jenni Vive! 2015" is "hard, but it's for the best."

He expressed the following: "It's a shame not to attend this festival simply because I don't like hypocrisy. I can't get on a stage in front of thousands of people and fake a smile. I can't go to a place and demonstrate that I'm happy when I'm uncomfortable." With that said, he thanked all of his fans and Jenni's fans for supporting her music.

But Rivera took the opportunity to also send a video message to his family members, whom he's been distant from for quite some time.

Without mentioning a name, he said he's still waiting for one family member, with whom he had an issue with almost three years ago, to apologize to his kids. He also sent some words to his siblings Juan Rivera and Rosie Rivera, telling his sister that he's disappointed in her for allowing the reality TV show "I Love Jenni" to air because it showed the Rivera family in a negative light.

He explained that he cares for his mother, nieces and nephews, but he's been distant because he does not want to cause problems. And he specifically sent a message to Chiquis Rivera.

"Our relationship has been damaged since October 2012, two months before your mom passed. My sister told me some personal things, and I believe her more than I believe you," he said to the songstress. "I don't wish you bad, I wish you the best, but understand that it's my sister who left, the woman who I lived with and who knows me more than you know me."

Lupillo demonstrated to be very bothered with Chiquis and even stated that he'll put all grudges aside once she stops talking about him and mentioning his name in her interviews. "I miss you, I want to record with you and compose songs for you," he continued. "You've got talent, you can do this on your own without me or your mom."

He signed off by thanking everyone for being supportive of his decision and understanding how he feels. Check out the complete video statement below.
