Jenni Rivera's birthday could not get here any quicker, as on that day, Jenni's hometown Long Beach, Calif. will be celebrating the music and legacy of the late singer at the first annual "Jenni Vive!" festival. Taking place on July 2nd --what would've marked her 46th birthday-- the event will count with already confirmed presentations by Chiquis Rivera, Becky G and Banda Los Recoditos. All the fans and everyone in the Rivera family is looking forward to this big festival. Everyone except Rivera's younger brother, Lupillo Rivera.
Though his sister Rosie Rivera has stated in the past that there might be a possible reconciliation, it seems as though Lupillo still holds grudges with his family. Don Pedro Rivera, father of Jenni, Rosie and Lupillo, has confirmed that his 43-year-old son does not plan to attend "Jenni Vive!"
"He told me that he's not going to go. If you want to know the reasons, call him," he said, reports TV y Novelas. Don Pedro also noted that his family is yet to know that Lupillo made this comment.
The Rivera family, especially Rosie and Chiquis, were hoping to count with the presence of "El Toro del Corrido" at the festival honoring "La Diva de la Banda." But it seems as if Lupillo is not ready to reunite with his familia.
"The whole family is in problems and I don't want to say something bad, because then they say something else and I'm the one to blame," he said. "They are very personal and you shouldn't ask me," Don Pedro added.
What a bummer! For those interested to attend, “Jenni Vive!” is planned to happen every year in different cities of México and U.S., this year the event will only occur in California. Ten thousand people are expected to show up at "Playa Larga," where the singer grew up, and where guest stars will be entertaining the audience. More performers will be revealed in the upcoming weeks.
