Despite how their relationship ended, Kristen Stewart just might still have love and care for her ex, Robert Pattinson. How she gave her full confidence to Pattinson playing the next Batman shows exactly this.
Back in June, it was announced that Pattinson will be the next brooding superhero of Gotham City, Batman. It raised conflicting reactions, eve leading to a petition to replace him. Stewart was asked about her thoughts about this when talking about her new movie, “Serberg” and instead of joining the legion of people who did not like her ex for the role, which she could, she did the opposite. She in fact, shared that no one suits the role more than anyone but Pattinson.
“I feel like he’s the only guy that could play that part," she told Variety. "I’m so happy for him,” she added. The “Charlie’s Angels” actress added that she already felt elated right at the moment she heard the news. “I'm very, very happy about that," she said. "I heard that and I was like, 'Oh man!' It's awesome."
Apart from Stewart, Christian Bale, who played the original Burce Wayne/Batman on the big screen, also loves Pattinson’s casting. Speaking also to Variety, the Oscar winner said the former “Twilight” actor is a good choice.
Bale handled the role of Caped Crusader in three massively successful films that were directed by Christopher Nolan: “Batman Begins, “The Dark Knight,” and “The Dark Knight Rises.” After him, Ben Affleck took over the role on“Batman v Superman” and “Justice League. At the time, Bale provided Affleck some advice, which he is offering again to Pattinson.
Just be able to pee by yourself,” Bale answered to the question on what Pattinson should know to play the role properly. “You don’t feel like a superhero when you aren’t able to piss by yourself,” he added.
On his part, Pattinson is well aware that his casting on this role has sparked some backlash. However, he’s not that upset because he expected worse. He also thinks being undermined can only lead to success in the long run. “To be honest, it was less vitriolic than I was expecting,” Pattinson recently said. “It’s much more fun when you’re an underdog. There’s no expectation of you.”
