Kerry Washington sure knows how to lead a private life in the Hollywood eye. The “Scandal” star secretly married husband Nnamdi Asomugha, former San Francisco 49s cornerback, back in June; announced her pregnancy in October, and apparently has already given birth almost two weeks ago. Kerry delivered baby girl Isabelle Amarachi on Monday, April 21 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A.
“Kerry is at home busy with the baby,” a source told People. This is the first child for both Washington, 37 and Asomugha, 32. The first-time parents began dating in the summer of 2012, and tied the knot in a very intimate ceremony in Hailey, Idaho a year later. Kerry recently wrapped filming Season 3 of “Scandal,” which was cut back to 18 episodes instead of 22, so she could deliver and not worry about work. Back in February, the show’s creator, Shonda Rhimes, hosted a baby shower for Washington.
"Everyone was so happy to see Kerry and immediately began admiring her belly," an eyewitness told Us Weekly. "It was a very lively crowd. Throughout the afternoon, people were hollering and clapping or ooh-ing and ahh-ing. They seemed to have a great day all around." Kerry had stated before that she loved being pregnant, “I feel really, really blessed,” she said. “It just feels like a really good time.” We’re sure she’s going to love being a mommy even more!
