Whether you're a fan or not and whether you like it or not, Chiquis Rivera has just made history! The 29-year-old songstress has become the first woman to top Billboard Latin albums chat since her late mother Jenni Rivera.
Very impressive, Chiquis, considering she had her doubts releasing this production due to the lack of support from the press, and the constant criticism.
In its first week, the Regional Mexican singer sold 7,000 copies of her debut studio album "Ahora," becoming the first female to crown the Top Latin Albums chart since her mom. "La Diva de la Banda" was the last woman to hold the title in Dec. 2014 when she opened at No. 1 with the posthumous production "1 Vida-3 Historias: Metamorfosis -- Despedida de Culican."
And according to Billboard, Chiquis and Jenni are also the first mother/daughter combination to reach No. 1 on the Top Latin Albums chart. They are the third parent/child combination following Vicente and Alejandro Fernandez and Julio and Enrique Iglesias.
