Jenni Rivera’s tribute festival, “Jenni Vive 2015,” is only 22 days away and the controversy around it keeps building up on a daily basis. The Rivera family just can’t seem to be able to take some time off from the media to honor the late “Diva de la Banda.”

Last week, Don Pedro Rivera revealed their upcoming battle against the people who are believed to have caused his daughter’s death. He also confessed that the family was planning to release an album containing the Diva’s inedited songs.

Also under the spotlight is Chiquis Rivera, who keeps struggling to be able to stand on her own, and let go of all the rumors about her alleged affair with Esteban Loaiza. Chiquis, who recently traveled to México to promote her new album “Ahora,” is one of the artists confirmed to be performing at the festival in Long Beach, California on July 2.

The festival’s line-up was rumored to include many surprises and fans were wondering if Jenni’s brother, Lupillo Rivera, was going to make a special appearance and join the rest of his family for the event.

Lupillo finally opened up about the situation in a 10-minute long video that he posted on his Facebook account, and in which he states he will not be attending the event. Although he expressed his discontent with most of the Rivera family, he addressed Chiquis by saying: “Chiquis, you know about the problem between me and you, our relationship has been damaged since October 2012, my sister confessed some things to me in her last moths, her last days, and I have this feeling because I believe my sister more than I do you. I don’t wish you wrong, I wish you the best in this world, but please understand that this is my sister who went away, a person that knew me more, than you know me.”

During a press conference in México, Chiquis was confronted by the media, and was asked her opinion about her uncle’s statement, “I don’t know what he is talking about. I have to approach my uncle, and I think that’s between families, but to each his own. I’m at ease. I’m going to ask him to come to “Jenni Vive” and I would love for him to come with us because it’s a day dedicated to my mom, and I’m going to do my part. My duty is to send him an invite, and that’s what I’m going to do.”
