“Fallout” developer, Bethesda, announces via Twitter that they are working to bring back the classic “Fallout 1,” “Fallout 2” and “Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel” back to Steam following their recent disappearance. The “Fallout” classics were all removed from Steam’s online store following changes to licensing agreements. While change won't affect anyone that's already purchased any of the games, it does however mean no one else can for the time being. Fortunately, Bethesda has everything under control confirming that it's working to return the titles to the store as soon as possible.
Bethesda tweeted, “We’re working to return classic @Fallout games (1, 2, Tactics) to Steam and will provide an update when they’re ready to go.” It was revealed earlier this week that GOG.com also removed Bethesda’s “Fallout” classics from their catalog as well tweeting, “@karimchelli @fallout we're not currently a publisher on GOG, which is why it's a little easier returning them to Steam.” It is unclear when the games will return to GOG, as of now the developer on mentioned they are working to bring them back to Steam for the time being.
Right before the holidays we learned that a new game in the “Fallout” series rumored to be “Fallout 4” does indeed exist and will be set in Boston, as was previously rumored. Leaked documents have revealed some of the first details about the game, which is unfortunately never mentioned by name, although multiple pieces of evidence point to it being “Fallout 4.”
