Angelina Jolie doesn’t care how long her and Brad Pitt’s divorce process is going to take — she just wants the best outcome for her and her children. A source close to the actress recently revealed that Jolie has no interest whatsoever in expediting the divorce process because she wants everything to be as thorough and as fair as possible. To her, that is the only way she can protect her children amid the hullabaloo involving her and her ex.
Jolie and Pitt are still in the process of their divorce. While Jolie reportedly does not want to make things hard on Pitt, she is having a hard time letting go of all the resentments she has toward him and their failed marriage. “…She just wants to be fair for her and the kids,” the source said. “She is struggling to let go of any lingering resentment and wants to move to a place of healing, love, and forgiveness about her relationship and failed marriage with Brad,” the source added.
According to the source, Jolie feels that it was Pitt who benefitted more from their marriage. As Jolie set aside her career to focus on their children, Pitt was free to pursue projects he was passionate about. “She feels largely responsible for much of his success and acquired wealth while they were together,” the source said.
With things over between them, Jolie’s only wish is for the outcome of the divorce process to be fair. While Pitt wants to speed everything up, Jolie wants the process to be as thorough as possible and for everything to be divided fairly between them. “She is not trying to be mean, she understands Brad’s frustrations, however, she is just trying to protect herself and the kids, too,” the source added.
Jolie and Pitt announced their separation in September 2016. Three years since then, their divorce process still continues on. The main reason for the stalling is reportedly their ongoing custody battle over their children — Maddox, 17; Pax, 15; Zaharah, 14; Shiloh, 12; and twins Knox and Vivienne.
