A new trailer for Fox's summer blockbuster "The Wolverine" has hit the interwebs with more of peek at the villainess Viper (Svetlana Khodchenkova), the Silver Samurai (Will Yun Lee) and the Japan-set plot.
Hugh Jackman reprises his role as the Marvel antihero Wolverine as James Mangold directs the 3D epic film, which opens internationally July 24, two days before the U.S. which has a July 26 release date.
The latest clip features some fresh scenes, starting with the 1945 atomic explosion that begins this particular chapter in Wolverine's mythology: he shields a Japanese soldier from the blast, a soldier who ultimately becomes Shingen Yashida, the head of a huge corporate empire. Decades later, Yashida offers to return the favor, telling the immortal Logan, "Your ability to heal can be passed to another. Allow someone else to shoulder your burden."
Also showcased in the trailer are the ladies in Logan's life. There is the snake-tongued vixen, Viper, who makes Wolverine's flesh weak. Then there is the young warrior, Yukio, who tracks Logan down and brings him back to Japan.
