With Baby Archie to dote on, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s family presents a picture-perfect royal couple. But despite the obvious love that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have for each other, a royal commentator says that they are entering a critical phase in their marriage as “reality starts to kick in.”
Harry and Meghan’s relationship, which was once described as a whirlwind romance, can be considered having stood the test of time as they are now entering the fourth year of being together. But the royal couple shouldn’t relax just yet because, if a royal commentator’s prediction is spot on, the ride is about to get bumpy ahead.
“Three years is generally understood by relationship psychologists and counsellors to be the point where you move out of the limerence phase,” royal commentator Angela Mollard said in an episode of New Idea’s “Royals” podcase.
Apparently, it is around this period that couples will start to realize some of the minor issues in their relationship that they’ve managed to previously ignore. “Limerence is deeper than infatuation, but it’s the beginning of a relationship where it’s all butterflies and you laugh together all the time and you’re very amenable. Three years is around the stage where reality starts to kick in.”
Whether Mollard’s prediction will come true or not, Harry and Meghan are under a lot of stress lately due to the scrutiny on their lifestyle. The Duchess of Sussex was questioned for not including Queen Elizabeth II in the women she featured Vogue, where she was a guest editor as, well as her use of private jets when traveling with Baby Archie.
However, some of Meghan’s friends believe that the negative perception of the duchess is caused in part by the British press. “Dear England and English press, just say you hate her because she’s black, and him for marrying a black woman and be done with it,” actress Jameela Jamil tweeted.
Most royal family fans are probably aware by now about the supposed feud between her and Kate Middleton. But what is seldom covered is the supposed falling out between Prince William and Prince Harry, a misunderstanding that needs to be patched up fast according to a royal commentator.
Whether caused by the media or online trolls, Harry and Meghan are going to need all the help they can get. But one of the best support they could ever have might come from the royal family itself — from his brother William.
“If Harry does have any sense, he will rely on William and that relationship will be repaired going forward,” Mollard explains why it’s absolutely necessary for the younger royal to repair his supposed strained relationship with his older brother. “He does have tremendous wisdom as a brother, so fingers crossed.”
