Why Prince William Is Rumored To Dislike Prince Harry’s Wife Meghan Markle

It’s not that unusual for some family members to have a negative impression of an in-law who just married into the family. Thus, some royal family fans are also understandably curious if the same dynamics are at play within the British royal family and, more specifically, if Prince William might dislike Prince Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle.

Previously, there were speculations that William might have approached Harry and had a brotherly talk about his younger brother’s decision to marry Meghan. He did this not because he disliked Meghan for Harry but because he felt that Harry didn’t know her long enough to make such a serious commitment.

“A younger brother who has spoken about his own vulnerability, about his own grief, about mental health issues, it wouldn’t be unreasonable I think for William to sit down with his brother and question [him],” royal commentator Angela Mollard spoke on the “Royals” podcast in June.

But whatever William might have initially felt, it’s clear that Harry eventually convinced him to get over his initial resistance to Meghan. Even Kate Middleton, who was rumored to have a feud with the Duchess of Sussex, was recently seen chatting and having a good time with Meghan while watching Serena Williams’ match at Wimbledon.

Of course it will never be known just what went on behind the scenes and whether or not there was some sort of feud, as suggested by numerous reports, because Buckingham Palace has this policy of not making any official comment unless it’s absolutely necessary to do so. But that’s not stopping fans from sharing what they thought is William’s relationship to Meghan is.

Someone posted the question “Do you think Prince William really dislikes Meghan Markle?” on Quora to give royal family fans the chance to share their opinions. Surprisingly, most fans think that there’s no problem between William and Harry’s wife despite what the tabloids were reporting.

Some say that William is pleased that Harry finally found a stable, happy relationship with Meghan. “I doubt that he dislikes her — he and Harry are close enough that I’m sure that even if she’s not his personal cup of tea he’s still very happy that his brother is happy,” Jeanette Niebler-Blei wrote.

Others say that William simply has no reason at all to dislike Meghan. “Meghan and Harry are clearly happy and in love,” Chris Hawkes commented. “We know that William and Harry are close, so is it likely that he would dislike someone who is giving his brother so much joy?”

But a very observant fan wrote that William already welcomed Meghan into the family on the day of her wedding to Harry. “I watched Harry and Meghan’s wedding,” Hninzi Lwin narrated.

“I noticed that right after the vows were said Prince William was trying hard to catch Meghan’s eye. However she was too engrossed with Harry to notice. I got the sense that he wanted to welcome her into the family. It was at that moment I realized that Meghan had been accepted By Harry’s loved ones,” he added.
