Demi Lovato suffered from a drug overdose last year. At present, the award-winning singer has already recovered.

But some fans and critics are still wondering why the former child star never went to prison for taking drugs. Addy Rose, a fan of “Camp Rock,” said that Lovato refused to tell the doctors what drugs she overdosed on. And when the police searched her house, they didn’t find any illegal drugs. As such, Lovato cannot be arrested without ample evidence.

“And to be honest, I think Demi should be worrying about recovery right now, rather than whether or not she’s going to jail,” the fan wrote. “Sobriety should be her top priority,” the fan added.

Keith Moreland, a police sergeant, said that the only way for Lovato to be arrested for taking drugs is if she’s caught red-handed with it. According to Moreland, celebrities usually have staff that helps them get their supply so that the paparazzi won’t snap photos of them while buying drugs.

Meanwhile, the month of July is quite memorable for the “Stone Cold” singer because it was during this month last year that she overdosed. Prior to the near-fatal incident, Lovato has been going to rehab for her bipolar disorder, eating disorder and other mental health issues.

After recovering from the incident, Lovato has been active on her social media accounts, most especially on Instagram. But since July 1, the singer has not posted anything on her account.

Lovato’s last post was a photo of herself with her adorable dogs. The black and white snap is a tribute to her late dog, Bailey, and it was uploaded on June 30. By the looks of it, the singer will return to social media in August, after the month of July passes.

But an unnamed source also claimed that Lovato has not been uploading anything on her Instagram account due to the death of her dog. “She is living with her mom, and her mom is worried, but she would never let anything happen to her daughter on her watch,” the source said. However, the statement hasn’t been confirmed or denied by the singer’s rep.
