Is it really shocking that Scarlett Johansson has won Esquire’s “Sexiest Woman Alive” title for a second time? She’s the only woman who been named twice, with her first time being in 2006, when she was only 21 and best known for her role in “Lost In Translation.” Now her resume has expanded, with movies such as “Vicky Cristina Barcelona,” and mega-box office hits like “The Avengers,” where she plays Black Widow and will reprise her role in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," out next year, and a second "Avengers" film set for 2015. Most recently, she played a Jersey girl in Joseph Gordon-Levitt's "Don Jon."
She has kept busy, and for some reason, although she’s working a lot lately, even planning a wedding, her beauty just keeps improving, her curves look even better and her glance captivates any lost soul wandering around looking for answers to life. Men love her, women want to be like her. She has a “girl next door” appeal but at the same time exudes sexuality, and provokes a raw impulse to anyone who stands in front of her, because she has that power. She might not say or do anything, just stand there, but her presence will be noticed, as she is a true diva, a true movie star, with elegance, grace, sex appeal and talent.
Besides all those qualities, Scarlett is a very down to Earth actor and person, which is the first reason why we think she deserves the title, because she’s humble and it makes her even sexier. “You know, I gotta hustle. I'm a 28-year-old woman in the movie business, right?” She told Esquire. “Pretty soon the roles you're offered all become mothers. Then they just sort of stop. I have to hedge against that with work — theater, producing, this thing with Esquire … Sounds pretty bloodless, I guess.”
Another reason is that she’s just like any other lady with her man, which makes us women feel a little bit more like her. "Look, I'm with a Frenchman. I think jealousy comes with the territory. But I'd rather be with someone who's a little jealous than someone who's never jealous. There's something a little dead fish about them. A little bit depressing. It may not make sense, but you need to feel it a little. I know, irrational, right?" Just imagine ScarJo acting a bit jealous with her soon-to-be hubby. The sexiness-meter just reached the highest levels.
An on that same “relationship” note, there’s nothing sexier than a woman who doesn’t trash her previous failed relationships. Which brings us to reason number three, after she said the following in her Esquire interview: "I didn't think I was a jealous person until I started dating my current, my one-and-only. I think maybe in the past I didn't have the same kind of investment. Not that I liked my partner less, I just wasn't capable of it or caring that much."
What do you think about Esquire naming Scarlett Johansson as Sexiest Woman Alive? Do you think she deserved it? Who would you have chosen?
