The all new episode of “Reign” is sure to get some fans excited, not only is it the night of Mary’s wedding but things are about to seriously heat up after the ceremony. Fans will be treated to two version of episode 13, “The Consummation”—an on air version that according to Entertainment Weekly, “meets broadcast content standards” and a second version that will be a network first. The second version of the episode is uncensored and been deemed “too hot for TV,” the steamy cut is set to stream exclusively online for fans of the series to enjoy. The major difference between the two versions of “The Consummation” is none other than the sex. Or should I say the editing of the episode’s steamy sex scene. Tonight, Mary, Queen of Scots will decide which son of King Henry to marry either Francis, her first love, or Bash, the illegitimate heir.

CW is the network that produces the hugely popular “Reign” series; the historically inspired and sexy series caters to an average age demographic of 18-34 year olds. Therefore it comes as little surprise that they would be interested in offering fans a “more sexually intense” version of the intimate love scenes. A spokesperson for “Reign” noted that despite providing a more realistic account of the sexually explicit scenes, the network is not adding R-rated content to the show. The major changes between the two episodes will take place in the beginning of the 1-hour episode and at the very end, obviously both are love scenes but they feature two different couples. One of them obviously being Mary and her chosen husband and the future King of France, and another couple is still a mystery, but our guess is that it is Mary’s lady in waiting, Kenna and King Henry back at it.

This is not the first time that “Reign” has made headlines for it’s racy storylines, the CW series was previously criticized for featuring a racy masturbation scene. The masturbation scene, which featured Kenna, was still criticized even after the show had toned it down and editing it to little avail.
