Dexter will be available for live streaming on Netflix starting this Thursday: that's right, as Reality TV World reports, you can spend your Halloween catching up with your favorite blood-spatter expert. Netflix and CBS Corp. announced a new content licensing agreement which will allow Netflix to stream the first four seasons of the Miami-based drama. Seasons 5-8 of this serial-killer series will become available starting January 1, 2014. Dexter aired on Showtime from October 1, 2006 to September 22, 2013. The series' finale drew 2.8 million viewers, largest viewership for an original series episode in Showtime history.
Dexter follows Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall), a blood spatter expert and serial killer: he was one of the most popular anti-heros in US TV history. "We're thrilled to have 'Dexter,' one of Showtime's highest-rated shows on Netflix, and so quickly after it completed its record-breaking run," Ted Sarandos, Netflix's chief content officer, said. "This is one of the great serialized dramas of the past decade and we know our members will enjoy discovering or reliving the twisted world of Dexter Morgan anywhere and anytime they want." "We're excited to expand our relationship with Netflix's premium service with this groundbreaking Showtime series," said Scott Koondel, chief corporate content licensing officer for CBS Corp.
