It is official: Joy Behar is leaving "The View." There have also been rumors flying around about Barbara Walters and Elisabeth Hasselbeck walking out for different reasons, but one thing is clear, and that is that there is one talk show chair to fill.

Speculations started soon after Behar's departure. Many pointed to Brooke Shields as the ideal replacement, but neither Shields nor "The View" producers confirmed nor denied it. Kirstie Alley was also mentioned as a good add to the team.

But as of Wednesday, reports fired that ABC bosses were planning to shake up the show and wanted a "conservative Latina" to join as co-host, a woman whose views are similar to Elizabeth Hasselbeck's.

The move is seen as a tactic to woo more Latina viewers to the talk show, a demographic group TV chiefs are paying more attention to by the day.

"We want someone outspoken and passionate, just like the other women in the show. We still have a few months until Joy leaves and whoever joins has to add something new and fresh to the show," a source told MailOnline.

ABC declined to comment.

Barbara Walters denied claims that she would be leaving the show, or that Hasselbeck had been fired for being too conservative.

"Right now the only person that cannot leave this show is me," she said to the New York Daily News.

Walter also added that it will be "very bittersweet" to see Behar leave. Joy will be bidding farewell to "The View" in August, at the end of the current season after nearly 17 years as a co-host.

The show has had the same cast since 2007, when Whoopi Goldberg and Sherri Shepherd arrived to replace Rosie O'Donnell and Star Jones.
