Ten victims of a plane crash are confirmed dead, according to Uruguay Air Force sources quoted by Télam. The small private Beechcraft C 90, registered in Argentina, crashed in Uruguay late Thursday after leaving a resort. It appears that the craft crashed in Laguna del Sauce, in the Uruguayan region of Maldonado.

Crash evidence indicates that the pilot attempted an emergency landing, according to Air Force officials cited by infobae. The plane was reportedly engulfed in flames during impact, killing the pilot and all passengers aboard. Nine of the victims are reported to be Argentine and one passenger was a Portuguese woman, according to authorities cited by NDTV. Most of the passengers worked with or for La Rural, an event and festival production company based in Argentina, Uruguay’s Diario Uno reported.
