HBO has announced its summer series lineup premiere date. The shows include “True Blood” and the post apocalyptic series by “Lost” co-creator Damon Lindelof “The Leftovers.”
“True Blood” will premiere for its seventh and final season June 22 at 9 PM. While the final season will only be 10 episodes long, it is said to be going back to its roots. The announcement was accompanied with a somber trailer featuring the tombstones of all the deceased characters from the series and ending on a tombstone with the shows name ultimately showing the imminent demise of the hit-vampire series.
Meanwhile HBO also announced the premiere date for “Lost” co-creator Damon Lindelof’s end-times drama “The Leftovers.” The show will debut with a 10 episode season which is set to premiere immidately after the “Game of Thrones” season four finale Sunday, June 15 at 10 PM ET/PT.
HBO’s announcement of “The Leftovers” describes the show as "an original look at The Rapture… because it’s not entirely clear The Rapture happened.”
