“True Blood’s” Stephen Moyer may have let slip some interesting news about production of something bigger coming after the final season of HBO’s hit-vampire show. During an interview at the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival Moyer spoke to a reporter from The Examiner, who asked him about the future for “True Blood” fans after the seventh and final season concludes this summer. Moyer then teased at something fans will be able to watch in 2016 if everything goes to plan.
Although Moyer doesn’t actually say “a film will be made” the options are limited here, it’s either a spinoff of “True Blood” or a feature film. When asked what are fans “supposed to do in summer 2015″ without “True Blood” he replied, “What are you going to do in the summer of 2015? I'm not sure about the summer of 2015, but if things go the way I'm hoping there will be something to watch in the summer of 2016. We'll have an announcement about that ... soonish.”
As of now, without confirmation from HBO, this is all speculation but it is highly possible that “True Blood” will follow in the footsteps of HBO’s other shows “Sex and the City” and “Entourage” and have its own movie after the season ends. Meanwhile the final season of “True Blood” has begun filming and is expected to come back to HBO this summer. The first of ten episodes will be directed by Moyer himself and the final season is said to get back to its roots, in terms of storyline and plot.
