A prominent Republican pundit and former official dragged billionaire Jeff Bezos for his alleged "cowardice" and "reprehensible" decision to pull his newspaper's endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris.

Former Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele railed against the Amazon founder for allegedly pulling the Washington Post's endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris to avoid backlash from Donald Trump.
According to Steele, Bezos, who bought the Washington Post in 2013, pulled the endorsement out of fear of political repercussions. "This act of cowardice to me, is just reprehensible," Steele says. "Because you were so afraid, my god, 'Donald Trump will come after my business.'"
Steele contended that Bezos's decision contradicts the paper's iconic slogan, "Democracy dies in darkness," which he called "bravado and BS."
"You put it on your masthead and then you took it down because you are afraid of Donald Trump," Steele continued. "You don't have a journalistic mindset...There's a reason why your newsroom right now is pissed off at your dumb behind."
Calling on Bezos to sell the paper if he can't handle political pressure, Steele emphasized the significance of the Post's role in American journalism, especially under Trump's frequent attacks on the paper as "fake news."
"There are more of us willing to stand in the light so it doesn't go dark, and you are turning out the lights on your own newspaper," Steele added.
