“Teen Wolf" Executive Producer Jeff Davis recently opened up to E! Online to discuss Season 4 of the MTV hit-show. Although we lost Allison (Crystal Reed), Davis reveals Season 4 will see more girl-power in the form of a powerful trio including newcomers Kira (Arden Cho) and Malia (Shelley Hennig) along with Lydia (Holland Roden).
"One of the things that I really like in Season 4 is the friendship developing between Kira, Malia and Lydia," Davis said. "We have this trio of girls who are becoming a very powerful part of the show, which is just awesome."
He also revealed that we’ll see some romance between Kira and Scott (Tyler Posey) but not right away, seeing how his first real loved just recently died. This falls into place with the news that Season 4 will see Scott dealing with more human problems than supernatural.
"One of the things we're really excited about is the writer's room is in love with Scott and Kira. We really like that romance, so at the beginning of it, it's going to be a little bit of a ‘are they together, are they not together?' Kira doesn't know what to do, she doesn't know how much space to give him. Scott doesn't know what to do either, because he wants to be a gentleman, and respect the girl he loved who is now dead, but he's also a teenager and he's falling in love," Davis explained. "Those are going to be struggles and they are going to have slowly find their way to romance again. We like the idea of a slow burn for them, where as for other romances on the show may be all physical at first, but the difficult thing for them is actually being with each other and not being physical. Those are interesting relationships.”
But Scott’s not the only one to get a love story in Season 4. Davis explains that Stiles and Malia will give it a go and that must mean he is finally over his long-time crush Lydia.
"Well, I'm not a huge fan of love triangles myself," Davis explained, "But you'll definitely see some growing feelings between Malia and Stiles."
Meanwhile, the June 23 premiere date for Season 4 of “Teen Wolf” was revealed earlier last week in a creepy promo trailer featuring Lydia and Stiles. Check it out below.
