Masahiro Sakurai, creator of the “Super Smash Bros.” franchise, released a new image from the upcoming 3DS version of the game that shows what looks like the single-player mode. Although the picture, which first showed up on Miiverse, shows a sort-of adventure mode -- which Sakurai has warned fans not to expect anything like the Subspace Emissary from “Super Smash Bros. Brawl.” "Pic of the day. Where am I......?? To be clear, the new Super Smash Bros. games does not feature a story mode like The Subspace Emissary," Sakurai wrote.

Kirby’s rival King Dedede was the last playable character announced. Besides Dedede, the character roster includes: Zelda, Rosalina and Luma, Marth, Mario, Donkey Kong, Link, Samus, Kirby, Fox, Pikachu, Bowser, Pit, Villager, Mega Man, Wii Fit Trainer, Pikmin & Olimar, Luigi, Peach, Toon Link and Sonic. For more information on the characters announced thus far, check out the official "Super Smash Bros." for Wii U and 3DS website. Meanwhile it was discovered that the Wii U and 3DS versions of the game will have different trophies.

“Super Smash Bros.” for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS was first announced at E3 2011. Unfortunately there is still no word on the release date. Originally Nintendo announced the game will be coming this year, 2014, and that still seems to be the case. The game had been rumored to be set for a spring release but after hearing this Nintendo immediately shot down the news as false.
