Julián Gil is stoked with the upcoming premiere of "Sueño de Amor" starring Cristián de la Fuente and Betty Monroe. In the romantic comedy novela, the Argentine actor portrays the villain, Ernesto de la Colina. "Ernesto is the bad guy of the story," he told Latin Times, revealing that his character is the rival of De la Fuente's character Ricardo Alegría.
"He has a lot of hate but at the same time, he's very ambitious," he added, confessing that this role has entered his life at a very special moment. "This villain is different because with this character I'll be able to send a powerful message to viewers. In Ernesto's case, he has a dysfunctional life and family, and with my role, people will find out the importance of love," he said.
Although he's the biggest sweetheart in person, Gil revealed that he and his evil role in "Sueño de Amor" have many similarities. "I'm hardworking and very ambitious," he said before sharing a personal anecdote about his younger days. "Another example is that as an adolescent I had problems with my father because he was an alcoholic. Ernesto has a son who has been abandoned by his father. In this case, it's the other way around, but the issue is the same," the 45-year-old actor stated.
"Sueño de Amor" premieres at 8p.m. on Tuesday, March 8 via Univision.
