Photos of the man who suspected of killing UnitedHealthcare's CEO Brian Thompson were released Thursday and the internet started collectively swooning.
Social media users' reactions to the alleged killer's unmasked photos came as little surprise as he was already being hailed for taking out a titan in the healthcare industry.
"Oh he's cooked. Beautiful smile though," one X user posted with screenshots of the alleged killer during a CNN news segment.
"Plot twist, it's Timothée Chalamet," X user @K1ngAl3xand3r.
Many X users agreed that Thompson's potential assassin looks a lot like the Oscar-nominated actor.
"He could've won the Timothy Chalamet look-a-like contest," @FearedBuck wrote.
"This would be a wild ending to the Timothee Chalamet look a like contest saga," meme page @DirtbagNolita posted.
Others argued he better resembled Chalamet's fellow Oscar-nominated actor Jake Gyllenhaal.
"I'm not saying this in the 'romanticize the killer' way, but I am simply observing... That he kinda looks like Jake Gyllenhaal," X user @thesammisofar tweeted.
"Furthermore, the shooter is very handsome. APB (all-points bulletin) for Jake Gyllenhaal," another user agreed.
One user advised Jake Gyllenhaal get his agent on the line for the inevitable show about the assassination.
"Guarantee the Netflix writers room is already working on a 4-part miniseries titled "Deny" ....Jake Gyllenhaal get on the phone with your agent....." @kaylawbowers90 suggested.
Another X user was so enamored by the alleged killer's looks, they claimed police must be framing him.
"completely different person who is this beautiful chad y'all are framing," X user @slatticus wrote.
In addition to his good looks, many social media users were intimidated by the alleged killer's assassin skills while wishing the best for him.
"Hope the misidentified assassin is f--king running with it rn on the dating apps," @trankneesaur posted.
"It says a lot about our society when this United Health Assassin stays in the news cycle longer than an assassination attempt on a president..." another X user observed.
One user found the entire spectacle hilarious.
"nypd's gonna open twitter hoping someone's dropped information and just seeing everyone thirsting i'm cryinggg," @sveetrevne tweeted.
The latest update from the New York Police Department, according to reporting by CNN, was that the investigation was moving at a "steady pace." Police found a water bottle with smudged fingerprints and a phone at the scene.
Police are also sifting through numerous tips since the photos were released, but no arrests have been made.
