As Selena Gomez gets ready to release her upcoming album, “Revival,” on October 9, she talks about how her personal life affected her creative process and how going to the studio felt like therapy at times. The singer went on an interview on Power 106 Los Angeles, at “The Cruz Show” where she spoke about how gaining weight led to body shaming, paparazzi, social media, and baring it all for her black and white, nude album cover, which she jokes is “pretty Photoshopped.”
Gomez says she knows she gained weight at one point, but paid no attention because she doesn’t care about those things. "I don't care about that stuff, but I did start gaining weight and I didn't really mind it. I enjoyed it," she said. But comments and critiques started floating around, which Gomez said were “really hurtful.” When asked if she wanted to have children eventually and if they’d be on social media, Selena said she definitely does want a family but will cross that bridge when she gets there. “Who knows what cell phones will look like then! Everything will probably be floating in the air,” Gomez joked.
When the paparazzi came up, the singer describes them as “disgusting and disappointing” because “they’re just looking for a bad photo.” “There’s a point in everyone’s career when they can be useful, but later on they’re just invasive and cruel,” she explained. Check out the full interview below:
