Selena Gomez has her priorities set, and romance does not seem to be on the radar — at least at present. Of late, rumor mills have been working extra hard to conjure up a tale on how something is brewing between her and Niall Horan.
The reportage by OK! Australia kick-started with reports of a visibly irked Gomez “gritting her teeth” at ex Justin Bieber’s recent wedding. Soon after, the publication allegedly shifted the spotlight to her equation with Horan and cited that the two were “more than just friends.”
The rumor stemmed from a few pictures that recently surfaced online of Gomez bringing food to Horan’s house, and the two were also spotted spending quality time with a group of friends later that week. The publication also linked past rumors to the recent series of events and rustled up a report of their hidden romance.
Interestingly, the article also attributes the information to an “insider” source. “She’s open to start putting herself out there again. That’s if Niall hasn’t already snapped her up!” said the source.
This news, however, is far from true. Gossip Cop busted the fabricated story before things blew out of proportion.
Horan himself also brushed aside these rumors during a recent Sirius XM appearance. The singer-songwriter made it clear that his relationship with Gomez was “strictly platonic,” but they hang out often and a collaboration may also be likely.
Furthermore, E! News, a credible source for celebrity news, maintained that the two are just friends. “Selena and Niall are not dating and have been hanging out as friends,” said the source. “They have always been good friends and have kept in touch throughout the years.”
This isn’t the first time that the magazine went into overdrive in terms of fault reportage targeted at Gomez. In February, a report ran that speaks of Gomez having wreaked havoc in Bieber’s marriage to the extent of Bieber divorcing Hailey Baldwin after just 129 days of marriage.
And this is not all. In December last year, the magazine also reportedly accused Gomez of creating a rift between Bieber and Baldwin, which was also proven false.
