Selena Gomez Admires Niall Horan, But They're Not Dating

Last week, a rumor linking Selena Gomez to One Direction member Niall Horan made the rounds online after a journalist allegedly spotted them together at a Lewis Capaldi gig. Two days later, the two were spotted together again at Jenna Dewan’s birthday party, further fanning the flames. Earlier this week, however, a source close to Gomez came forward to debunk the rumor and claimed that the two artists are not romantically involved in any way.

Since Selena Gomez stepped back into the limelight, names of eligible bachelors being linked to her have been in the news. Dating rumors involving her and Zac Efron just died down last month, but journalist Mike Wass instigated another rumor last week when he tweeted that he saw Gomez and Horan together on April 3.

“The Lewis Capaldi showcase was incredible,” he wrote. “This guy’s a f***ing star! (Also, unless I’m hallucinating, Selena & Niall were sitting at the table next to me),” he added.

The tweet was quick to spark a Twitter storm, drawing reactions from mostly shocked fans. While fans waited for either camp to confirm the journalist’s tweet, a new report came out again just days after, saying that Gomez and Horan packed on the PDA at Jenna Dewan-Tatum’s 35th birthday on April 5.

Gomez and Horan reportedly attended Dewan’s birthday bash together at Bootsy Bellows in Los Angeles, and they were “all over each other.” According to reports, the two danced close together at the party all night, kissing on the lips and hugging a lot. Someone from the party also revealed that they seemed to have tried to hide their affection but failed.

“They tried their best to keep to themselves in their private booth behind the DJ table in the main room but that was not happening,” the source claimed. “They were seen making out by a handful of people. Selena seemed super into it. And Niall even more so,” the source added.

Although it is true that Gomez and Horan were at both parties last week and while fans are thrilled about this possible new development in Gomez’s love life, an insider told Hollywood Life exclusively that the dating rumors are not true.

“Selena thinks Niall is great and loves his music but they are not boyfriend and girlfriend despite some of the rumors,” the source said. The same source also said that while Gomez finds Horan cute and totally talented, she wants to focus more on taking care of herself at this point in her life.
