A-Rod may be hitting the field for the last time. The Yankee's third baseman said he will be training in New Jersey this Sunday before meeting the team in Chicago for what could be a last hurrah before the MLB hands down his sentence following his performance-enhancing drug case Monday. He will either get a 200-game suspension, putting him out for the remainder of this season and 2014 or a lifetime ban from the MLB, Inquisitr reported.
A-Rod isn't the only one anticipating this fate. The MLB is expected to suspend at least a dozen players for unfair practices on the same day. He plans to fight the outcome no matter what. He is likely to issue a plea for a 50-or-more-game suspension, which is typical for first-time offenders, the Washington Post reported. The 38-year-old has also missed lots of time with his team following an injury. The suspension is expected to terminate his career with $100 million of his $275 million left to be paid. A-Rod said in a press conference Friday that he believed there was a conspiracy against he. He said later that he was not focused during the press conference and that his only concern at this time is playing baseball.
"I've been on the field for the last 5 1/2 hours, I haven't heard anything. My focus is to play baseball. I was excited to be playing tonight and even more excited about Monday," Rodriguez said. "I can't wait to see my teammates. I feel like I can help us win and be a better team and I haven't seen a lot of my brothers in a long time."
