Demi Lovato recently shared a photo of her new haircut to her millions of Instagram followers. Days later, the real reason behind her new do was revealed.
Earlier this month, the singer dropped by the Nine Zero One Salon in Los Angeles to get a haircut with the help of Amber Maynard Bolt. Before cutting the singer’s hair, Bolt said that Lovato was feeling extraordinary, and she also needed something to speak to the way she was feeling.
“She’s been wearing some extensions and growing her hair out for a while so this was a nice change-up while keeping her classic and beautiful,” Jolt said. “Spring cleaning? I would say so! Changing our hair seasonally is a great way to feel good about yourself and to feed the soul,” the hairstylist added.
On April 13, the “Sorry Not Sorry” singer uploaded a photo of herself inside the elevator. In the snap, Lovato flaunted her trimmed hair while wearing a red and purple jacket. Underneath the jacket, Lovato is wearing a white shirt. She accentuated her look with her black pants, white sneakers and a yellow bag.
Last year, Lovato made headlines after reports swirled that she was rushed to the hospital following an overdose. After the incident, Lovato spent three months at a rehab facility. In November, the singer finally completed her stint and returned to her normal life.
“Demi seems to be doing well,” a source told People. “She looks really good and is in a great mood. She also seems happy about being out and about, but her focus is definitely still her recovery. She attends meetings and receives treatment. Her number one priority seems to be her health,” the source added.
The insider also said that Lovato’s good friend, Henry Levy, has been helping her throughout her recovery. The designer and the singer have known each other for years, and Lovato has also worn some of Levy’s creations.
“He has a bit of a troubled past as well but is doing well now. He will be great at supporting Demi’s sobriety. He is kind of an eccentric guy but sweet,” the source said.
