Prince William and Kate Middleton globetrot extensively for work, but there’s more to their travels than what meets the eye. The royal couple was spotted at the tropical isle of Mustique celebrating Prince George’s fifth birthday, yet again, early this year.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were accompanied by their three children and Kate’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton. Despite the tight exclusivity offered by the island, a volley of tourists managed to catch a glimpse of the family enjoying some time off their royal duties at the tranquil getaway.

In 2018, onlookers were treated to a rather unlikely sight in the dreamsque shores of Mustique as William and Kate were spotted partying at Basil’s Bar, indulging in their private space over a number of drinks. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had planned to indulge in their private space as the three royal children were apparetly being taken care of by Kate’s parents in the meantime.

“They were there for the cocktails segment and kept it rather classy,” said the source. Interestingly, Prince William and Kate are reportedly acquainted with the owner of the bar they were spotted at. The latter was also invited to their wedding in 2011.

It’s clear that the Duke and the Duchess of Cambridge have a thing for the coveted destination. They first visited the Caribbean holiday spot in 2008 and also enjoyed their first holiday as a family of five in the island last year.

The private island in the Caribbean archipelago nation of St. Vincent and the Grenadines boasts of pristine white sand beaches. Often it is frequented by high-profile celebrities, industrialists and the like.

This piece of information comes as a pleasant surprise as Prince William and Kate have been particular about exclusivity, especially with aspects pertinent to their personal lives. And there are very few instances where anecdotes of the royal couple enjoying a private holiday have surfaced.

One of them is when Kate created a stir when the royal couple tried their hands at fishing. Kate managed to ensnare a fish in her palms, and she bent down to the water. “Kate Middleton catching a fish with her bare hands in a safari-looking jacket with a massive rock on her finger is an aesthetic,” said an onlooker at that time.
