Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were "relegated" at the Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee due to their behavior, royal insiders have claimed.
According to sources, it is not a coincidence that there has been no interaction between Prince William and Harry during the long weekend celebration. One insider told the Daily Telegraph that Harry and Meghan's bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021 still bothers the Royal Family. "[The Sussexes] are not going to be playing a prominent role. A line has been drawn," an aide said.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were believed to have "crossed a line" during the tell-all interview. Harry and Meghan have not made an "acknowledgment of the hurt it caused," reports claimed.
The Sussexes have been seen publicly once as they attended only one function since returning to the United Kingdom for the celebration. They were seen outside St Paul's Cathedral for the service of thanksgiving on Friday before heading in together. The couple were seated across the aisle from William and Kate Middleton; they sat behind the Duke of Gloucester, 31st in line to the throne. Harry had no interaction with either his sibling or his father, Prince Charles, during the service. Afterward, they immediately left without joining other royals and VIPs at a reception.
Harry and Meghan were also spotted watching Trooping the Colour from a window at the Major General's Office, despite claims suggesting that Queen Elizabeth invited them to stand beside her on Buckingham Palace balcony.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, they celebrated daughter Lilibet's first birthday "privately" at Frogmore Cottage rather than traveling to London for Platinum Party at the Palace. The Queen is also said to have finally met her great-granddaughter and namesake, Lilibet. The 96-year-old Queen had also not seen the couple's other child, Archie, since 2019.
Harry and Meghan headed back to California on Sunday, just an hour before the British monarch marked the end of the Platinum Jubilee celebration. Royal commentator Omid Scobie told BBC Breakfast that Harry and Meghan "wanted to keep as low profile as possible" during their latest trip.
The Platinum Jubilee was the first public appearance of Harry and Meghan alongside the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge since moving to the U.S. in 2020.
