Disney-Pixar movies are known for their cross-referencing of other movies, called Easter eggs. The luxo ball and the Pizza Planet truck are some of the hidden gems that are found across multiple films. The yellow ball with a blue stripe and red star in the middle has been featured in "Toy Story," "Monsters Inc." and "Monsters University." Other hidden treasures include the grape soda brand that first appeared in "Toy Story" then on "Up" as a bottle cap pin. Remember Dug the dog from "Up"? He was featured on "Ratatouille" as a shadow even before he made his debut ... SQUIRREL!
This year, fans of Pixar will be sad to know that no film from the animation studio will be released until "Inside Out," which is set for release in June 2015. To keep busy and remember their legacy Disney is making fans embark on the "Pixar Easter Egg Challenge" and find over 50 different eggs throughout their 14 movies collection. This hunt also serves as promo for the Disney Movies Anywhere video streaming service that houses all-time Disney favorites. Think of it as a Netflix for Disney-produced films. Watch the video above with some of the cinematic eggs you can look out for!
