Sebastián Rulli will be back in the small screen with "Papá A Toda Madre," a new Televisa comedy for the whole family. A teaser for the telenovela was just released in México and it shows Rulli at the altar about to get married, but a girl interrupts the ceremony by screaming out "dad" in front of everyone and running towards him. It's a cute little preview and we can't wait for Univision to start airing it soon stateside. While we wait, watch the promo below and tell us what you think!
In this telenovela, Rulli will be sharing credits with Mark Tacher, a fellow actor he has a turbulant past with. The news came as a shock to fans of both actors as Tacher once said he would never work with Rulli. These comments were made while Mark was dating Cecilia Galleano, who is the mother of Rulli's baby Santi. Cecilia and Sebastián were going through a rough custody battle and Mark was caught in the middle and defended his girlfriend at the time. "I would not be capable of acting alongside the man," he said back in 2014. "No, I would never work with the actor. It's obvious that we can't separate the person from the artist."
When it was confirmed that Tacher would be working with Sebastián Rulli, reporters took the opportunity to ask him about his famous words and this is what he said: "Yes, yes, shoulder to shoulder, elbow to elbow. It was mentioned on social media that I was going to be the villain, but I am Rulli's best friend [in the series], I am like his counselor on how to manage his company. I have the utmost respect for Sebastián, ultimately him and I never had a problem and any comment out of order I apologize. I never tried to offend. Working alongside Sebastián, he's a successful person, creative, very disciplined, that has had much success, it's a pleasure for me."
"Papá A Toda Madre" is the story of frivolous business owner Mauricio, who is forced to grow up when confronted with an unconventional situation: a 9-year old girl shows up claiming to be his daughter. The revelation throws off Mauricio’s plans to marry into wealth to save his family business, which his best friend has led into bankruptcy, and he enlists his ex-employee to help raise the girl. In the midst of a love story full of unexpected arcs, Mauricio discovers his best friend is actually the girl’s father, and he must choose between saving his company and fighting for his new family.
“Papá a Toda Madre” will be produced by Eduardo Meza, who has the task of being an executive producer for the first time. Meza was previously part of Rosy Ocampo’s team where he worked on projects like “La Doble Vida de Estela Carrillo,” “Antes Muerta Que Lichita,” “Que Pobres Tan Ricos,” “Mentir Para Vivir,” “Por Ella Soy Eva,” “La Fea Más Bella,” and many more.
