Jenji Kohan creator of the hit Netflix series “Orange is the New Black” has revealed that Laura Prepon who plays Alex Vause will be in “most” of Season 2. "Yes, yes, she is coming back," Kohan told Us Weekly of the former “That '70 Show” actress at the Writers Guild Awards on Saturday, Feb. 1. "Not the whole season, but ... you'll see her for most of it.”
This is exciting news especially seeing how we learned late last year Prepon would have a severely short role in season two of "Orange is the New Black." It was said Prepon would only show up in one episode of the season, then changed to four episodes due to prior commitments. It is probably best not to look too much in Kohan statement. She could simply be saying Prepon will be seen throughout most of season two but not as much as other characters.
Speaking with TV Guide Kohan also dished on what viewers should expect to see from season two. Revealing the upcoming season of "OITNB" will shift focus from Piper to other characters in the prison like Crazy Eyes (Uzo Aduba) and Red (Kate Mulgrew). "It's becoming much more of an ensemble," Kohan said. "As much as I love Piper and Taylor and her journey, I think people are interested in everybody's journey.”
Netflix has yet to set a premiere date for “Orange is the New Black” Season 2, but it has been revealed season two has finished filming. Season one premiered in July last year, so it’s safe to assume that season two will be released around summer this year.
