Laura Prepon will return for at least four episodes for "Orange is the New Black" season two according to a new report. This comes hot off the heels of the news that Prepon would only appear in one episode for season two. Back in September BuzzFeed reported that the actress was only due back for a single episode. Four episodes is a major upgrade than the one episode we had originally thought and it will be nice to see Laura Prepon as Alex.
Meanwhile BuzzFeed also reports that Prepon is in talks for season three, which contradicts what was reported back in september that Prepon would be somehow written off the show in one episode. The reason for the actress' short run on "Orange is the New Black" season two appears to be for multiple reasons. Initially Prepon had only signed on for one season when she joined the show, and by the time its popularity exploded she was already set on directing her first movie and planned an "Orange is the New Black" exit.
Last month Jenji Kohan, series creator, said that season two will spend its time focused across all of the characters instead of keeping the spotlight on Piper's storyline. "It's becoming much more of an ensemble," she said. "As much as I love Piper and Taylor and her journey, I think people are interested in everybody's journey." There has been no announcement on the official release date for "Orange is the New Black" season two but it is expected to premiere on Netflix in early 2014.
