Being a royal is no joke- from protocols to being under public scrutiny and secrets being revealed- your life basically becomes public property. There are countless factors that make going about daily life a complete challenge and while it seems rosy and dreamlike, Kate Middleton's transition into the Royal life was no easy task.
The Duchess of Cambridge had a lot of years to go through to prepare herself thoroughly for the pressures of being a royal. Doing so, she's become a master of grace under pressure whilst carrying out royal duties with effortless glamour. Which is why she has become the global icon that she is today- for exuding the regal aura as well as being a fashion figure worldwide.
The composure and admirable grace that Kate Middleton has continuously displayed over the years, however, does not expel her fears about being a Royal. She reveals her crippling fear that affects her life to this day in an unearthed podcast.
In the BBC Radio 5 Live's 2017 podcast series, ‘Images of Diana’, Natasha Kapinsky shares her insight as to how the late Princess Diana may still affect the Kate Middleton and the Royal family. While both Kate and Princess Diana were both not born into royalty, an additional burden for the former is to live up to the boldness of her late mother-in-law.
Princess Diana was always known to make an impact- both for her presence and what she had to say when she addressed the public. Royal Expert Camilla Tominey even points out how Middleton can improve and crawl out of her shell, sharing that the Duchess of Cambridge would have to get over her crippling fear of public speaking to do so.
Tominey shares, “I think she could do herself more credit by speaking more. She has had this crippling fear of public speaking which Arthur and I have seen first hand – and the rest of the people in the press pack – when she has had to address crowds that she needs to get over."
Even Royal Photographer Arthur Edwards expresses his support for Middleton to share her causes and charities more. "They’re brilliant what she does, but they don’t get the publicity that they deserve," he shares.
