One Direction has topped the Billboard 200 chart following the release of their latest album "Midnight Memories." Their third studio record has hit the No. 1 spot, selling 546,000 copies in its first week, Billboard revealed. Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Liam Payne are on a three-peat stateside, with all their albums debuting at the top of the charts. Their debut album titled "Up All Night" soared with sales of 176,000 copies in March of 2012, while their sophmore effort, "Take Me Home," was massive with 540,000 copies sold later that same year. 1D solidifies its position as the top boyband of the moment and has the honor of being the third pop group of scoring multiple half-million sales weeks since Nielsen SoundScan started tracking numbers in 1991. The other two boybands were 'N Sync and Backstreet Boys. RELATED: 1D Day Live Stream: When And Where To Watch One Direction Take Over YouTube And The World [VIDEO]
One Direction will be releasing the DVD for their movie "This Is Us" and Directioners will get extra features with never before seen footage. In one of the cut scenes it was revealed that Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson did not have a great relationship in the beginning. The boys explain that they clashed during their time on "The X-Factor" competition. "We used to be at each other's throats on The X Factor," Tomlinson said in the interview. Liam added, "There was one point where I literally wanted to whack him." We wonder what would have happened if they were not able to settle their differences? Zayn also gave his bit saying the boys are known as the daddy's of the group, with cut-aways to Liam being bossy. "This Is Us" will be available on DVD and Blu-ray on December 19. One Direction recently hit the cover of Billboard magazine and gave us an insight on the making of "Midnight Memories." "The facts we knew going into the making of this album was that they were going to do a stadium tour, so we wanted to make sure these songs really felt at home when you play them for that many people live as well as when you put it on in your car," Julian Bunetta said, music producer on "The X Factor" who produced and co-wrote with the boys most of the album. "I'm a night owl, so the late-night recordings don't really bother me — as long as I can sleep in late!" says Zayn Malik of the recording process. Harry Styles added, "I don't think it's that hard to stay focused. We get to go to amazing places and work with great people, it's just really fun!"
