Ollanta Humala, President of Peru, is on an official visit to Mexico on Thursday to meet with President Enrique Peña Nieto, and discuss various issues of bilateral and international agenda. The two leaders will sign a strategic partnership agreement that will deepen the political dialogue, enhance cooperation for the development and strengthening trade relations between the two countries. The two will meet at the Presidential Palace.
This bilateral legal structure will be strengthened with the signing of other strategies for safety, health, tourism, indigenous affairs, agriculture, foreign trade and legal-technical cooperation. In addition, President Humala will meet with Mexican and Peruvian entrepreneurs, with the purpose of promoting investment opportunities and trade between the two nations. The ceremony is scheduled at the National Palace in Mexico City at 11:30 am.
By 13:20 pm, the President Peña Nieto will have signed a document and will deliver a message to the media along with Ollanta Humala. "It is an important and comprehensive agreement that marks a difference in the relationship so far with Mexico, which will now involve a series of mechanisms and political and diplomatic agreements,"said the Peruvian ambassador to Mexico, Javier León Olavarría.
