After a long wait, Angélica Rivera's return to television is nearly here with the upcoming premiere of the new series 'Con esa misma mirada' coming next month. However, her comeback has been overshadowed by rumors of an alleged romance with her co-star, Diego Klein, who is 19 years her junior.
The controversy began when CARAS, a Mexican magazine, revealed its March cover featuring Rivera alongside Klein. The accompanying text not only celebrated the 55-year-old actress's return to television but also hinted at a budding romance between her and her co-star.
Inside the article, the magazine cites cast members from the Vix series as witnesses to the alleged relationship, even claiming that Klein was Rivera's date at her daughter Sofía Castro's wedding last November.
"Angélica Rivera is back—and in love! Exclusive for CARAS, all the details about her unexpected romance with 'Con esa misma mirada' co-star Diego Klein," the magazine shared on Instagram.
In response, Rivera took to her own Instagram account to deny the rumors, calling the magazine's claims false. She clarified that her relationship with Klein is strictly professional.
Firm in her stance, Rivera expressed confidence that the publication would eventually correct its reporting.
"I don't understand why a media outlet would act so unethically, publishing defamatory information and using unauthorized photos—violating the fundamental principles of quality journalism. But this is not for me to resolve; it is up to the editors and reporters, who will surely address this lapse in professionalism," she stated.
Shortly after Rivera's statement, CARAS doubled down, defending their reporting and promising to release further details soon. The magazine also criticized Rivera's denial, framing the alleged relationship with a younger partner as a chance to "empower women."
This remark did not sit well with Rivera's daughters, Regina and Fernanda Castro, who quickly voiced their opinions in the comments section. They accused the magazine of prioritizing sales over empowerment.
Fernanda even mocked the situation, writing, "I want to see the proof so I can celebrate my new stepdad," followed by a clown emoji.

While Rivera and her family maintain that the romance rumors are false, CARAS insists it has evidence that will eventually be made public.
Meanwhile, the much-anticipated premiere of 'Con esa misma mirada,' set for March 23 on Vix, has been eclipsed by the controversy, shifting the focus away from Rivera's long-awaited return to acting after 17 years.
